The MITC will launch a postage stamp in the memory of Romanian SMURD crew, which crashed in a mission one year ago on the territory of the Republic of Moldova

On June 4, 2017, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications will launch a postage stamp in commemoration of SMURD helicopter crew from Iasi municipality, Romania, which crashed in a mission on June 2, 2016 on the territory of Haragis locality, Cantemir district of the Republic of Moldova.  

The postage stamp represents the portraits of the crew members on the background of the SMURD helicopter and shall be put into circulation by the Haragis Post Office. The postage stamp was issued in 100 thousand copies and the nominal value of it - 9.50 MDL.

The launch of the postage stamp will be held on June 4 on the occasion of the inauguration of the memorial complex built at the crash site to the initiative of the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service. The monument symbolizes a tribute to those who intervene to save people’s lives, showing courage, devotion and sacrifice.

The event will be attended by Pavel Filip, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Daniel Ionita, the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova, Serghei Nastas, the Director General of the State Enterprise “Posta Moldovei”, and other guests.
